26TEN providers are located statewide and can talk with you about different learning opportunities. These may include one-to-one support, informal group learning or classroom based learning.

It will depend on the type of support. One-to-one support is free, but some informal group learning or classroom based learning may incur a fee.

No. Many people prefer one-to-one support because they can learn at a time that suits them.  If a person learns best in a group, or wants to join a class, we can put them in touch with the right person or providers.

People who need help with literacy and numeracy are often worried friends, family, or their employers will know they are getting literacy support. In country communities this can be even more of a concern because arranging transport to lessons can be difficult and hard to keep private.

Everything possible will be done to protect a client’s privacy and to find a place to learn that is convenient, safe and private.

No. Clients may be asked to complete some literacy or numeracy tasks to help find learning ‘gaps’ or areas of need. This helps us work out where to start.

You’ve done it! Visiting our website, finding out about your options and asking for advice are all great first steps. Contact us at email@26ten.tas.gov.au or call us on 1300 00 2610.
