26Ten has just released a new 10-year Adult Literacy Strategy to help Tasmanian adults improve their reading, writing and everyday maths skills.

The Strategy builds on the success and learnings of the previous 10 years and represents a continuing commitment to lifting literacy and numeracy across Tasmania.

As part of this Strategy, we’re seeking Champions to help us spread the word about the Strategy and the work of 26Ten.

What Champions will do

The new 26Ten Champions Group will promote awareness about 26Ten and the Adult Literacy Strategy, and support local communities by sharing information, meeting people and joining local events.

It is a voluntary role.

We are looking for people who have:

  • a strong connection to a community or network
  • a passion to make a difference in adult literacy
  • communication skills
  • reliability and enthusiasm
  • a diversity of perspectives
  • a willingness to learn and share
  • no significant conflicts of interest

Membership is for a period of two years with the possibility of a one-year extension.
