Julia's story

Adult Literacy Tutor at Sorell Library, Julia says she’s lucky to be able to help others.

“Being part of the Adult Literacy Tutor Program with Libraries Tasmania has made my move to Tasmania much easier and more pleasant. Through this program I’ve met wonderful and caring people who like me, love to be able to help and improve other people’s life through education. I’m lucky to be able to help migrants like me to learn and navigate through the English language.”

TasWater - Get it Written Project

TasWater's 26Ten Workplace Grant project, Get it Written, raised awareness of the need for literacy skills across all levels of the workforce, raised the confidence and lifted the aspirations of workers with low literacy, and built team support amongst people working with those individuals.
