This free online course is designed to give you the skills you need to become an Adult Literacy Tutor.
You will learn how to facilitate adult learning and development, and how to support adults in improving their language, literacy and numeracy skills. You'll also learn how to plan and monitor adult learning activities and outcomes, and have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of a variety of teaching strategies and resources that will assist with your tutoring.
You'll spend time gaining knowledge about general adult literacy and numeracy, reading, writing and spelling theories, and maths anxiety. You'll also learn how to work effectively within organisations, including WHS, policies and procedures, teamwork and communication.

DURATION
This course is delivered online over ten weeks and includes contemporary content, readings, videos, podcasts, websites, discussion boards and webinars. It is a highly interactive course where you can expect to spend up to ten hours per week studying.
OUTCOME
At the end of this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units you completed successfully.
SUITABILITY
To do well in this course, you need sound digital literacy skills and an appropriate level of language, literacy, numeracy, oral communication and learning skills to a minimum of Australian Core Skills Framework Level 3.
